The Best Resources to Start Any Business

Updated: Apr 21

We are just about to close out on week 3 of Mom Business May, and this week was a great one.

This week, I shared several (34, to be exact) of the resources that I use/used to run my business. And the best thing about them--you can get started with using them all for FREE!

Yes, you read that right.

If you haven't had a chance, hop on over to the podcast episode after reading this. You'll be so glad you did. I share my absolute favorite resources on there.

I know you've got places to be, boo. So I'm going to share only a few of the resources I mention in my podcast and e-book below.

Free Advertising

Naturally, the best advertisement is FREE ADVERTISEMENT and social media has taken care of that for you. The 2 most popular social media platforms out there are Facebook and Instagram. With a combined user count in the upper millions, it's no wonder people are using these 2 platforms to grow thriving businesses.

Be sure to create a business page on Facebook, and a business account on IG. Because Facebook owns Instagram, you'll be able to link the 2 accounts together and cross-post between the two. This is nice, because it negates the need to open both platforms to post the same post.

And you can do all of that for free!

Content Creation

Wondering where you create all of these magnificent posts? Canva. This website/app combo is the best resource out there for creating everything you need to run a business. There you can make your logo, Facebook and Instagram posts, advertisements, e-books, and so much more---all for FREE! Canva is invaluable, if you ask me.

If you don't have a Dropbox, get one immediately. It is so helpful when you need to save the content that you make. You can literally access your Dropbox anywhere (phone, tablet, and computer) and everything you add automatically syncs across all devices. What's not to love?

The most well-known email platform is Gmail. There's a pretty high chance that you already have one for your personal email, but I suggest creating another one for your business communications as well. That way you won't get the 2 confused, and you can separate work and life.

I suggest getting the Gmail app, and syncing both accounts into the app so that you'll have access to them all the time...if you want.

Since you'll be starting off on your own, you'll want to be sure that you're keeping up with your finances the correct way. The best way to do this is to use WaveApps. This is by far the best free accounting program out there. It's so good, in fact, that once you start making some money, you're gonna want to keep using it because they'll be no obvious reason for you not to.

In the meantime, get ready to learn who the best online business builders and leaders are (present company included) next week, when I share with you who inspires me and teaches me in the online business world.

These people are a fountain of knowledge--and you NEED to know about them, if you don't already.
