How To Drink More Water

When You're Super Busy (Or Just Plain Don't Like It)

Did you know that our bodies are made up of over 70% water?

Did you know that you can get your water from several different sources? You don’t just have to drink WATER to get water into your body!


Here are some amazing ways to get fluids into your body (that don’t just include drinking straight water)!


DRINKING OTHER FLUIDS

The best news that I can give you is that you can get your fluid intake from other sources. Do you know what fluids count as water—coffee, tea, milk, sparkling water, juices (be sure to dilute juices with water), and smoothies. And don’t worry, coffee and tea may be diuretics, but they don’t affect your body’s hydration levels. I didn’t believe that either, so I checked WebMD and Mayo Clinic, and they both say it’s true. So, when you’re thinking of getting in your “cups” of fluid—ALL of these drinks count! Woot!


EATING YOUR FLUIDS

Folks, I have even better news. You can eat (!) your fluids as well. The list of foods that count as water is literally so large, take a look!

Watermelon

Oranges

Grapefruit

Cantaloupe

Honeydew

Celery

Cucumbers

Spinach

Squash

Tomatoes

Green Peppers

Lettuces

Blueberries

Peaches

Oatmeal

Yogurt

Cauliflower

Strawberries

Soup

Carrots

Apples

Broccoli

Pears

Grapes

Pineapple

Zucchini

Raspberries


And the best part---most of these are ZERO or NEGATIVE CALORIE foods! So, you can pack these for lunch or eat them during the day for snack.


WHAT IF I WANT TO DRINK ACTUAL WATER?

If you are thinking you want to incorporate actual drinking water into your day, here’s a few ways to do that:

· Buy a nice water bottle that you can take with you wherever you go.

My favorite one is available here.


· Add fruit to your water to change the taste, if you don’t like plain water. Lemons, limes, blueberries, strawberries—the world is your oyster!


· Put your water bottle in the freezer for a while, so that it gets nice and cold. Colder water is SUPER refreshing-AND helps you lose weight by speeding up your metabolism.


· Download a water drinking app for your phone or smartwatch. There are free ones for both iPhone and Android that will remind you to drink water throughout the day. There’s even a water drinking monitor on the FitBit app, if you have one.
