Now you know I'm usually the absolute LAST person to recommend anything in this price range, but I have to give credit where it's due, and the Fitbit Charge 2 has earned my stamp of approval.
I purchased mine about 5 months ago as a replacement for my old one that lasted nearly 2 years.
And you know how it is... as soon as I bought this one, they came out with the Fitbit Charge 3 🙄
The funny thing is--this version is getting much better reviews, which is an example of how the "newest thing" isn't always the best.
I digress. Let me get to the good stuff.
The wristband comes in 2 sizes (small and large) and you can also purchase A TON of different wristbands online if the colors provided aren't to your liking, or you want to switch it up.
It checks your heart rate, even telling you when you are in the "fat-burning" zone, or the "cardio" zone during your workouts. It even tells you when you are in the "peak" zone--an illustrious state of being that I have yet to achieve.
Oh, and here's the best part! You can tell it which type of workout you're doing and it'll keep up with all your stats!
Just be sure to remember to tell it when you are done doing that activity. One time I forgot, and it recorded me as having done 5 1/2 hours of running on the treadmill. #killedit 😉
When you sync your Fitbit to the app on your device, you can use it to see who's calling or who's sent you a text. You can also set it to do silent alarms, which is a MUST if you and your significant other get up at different times. This way, you don't have to disturb one another with loud alarm clocks.
Oh, and it also monitors your sleep, telling you how long you were in light or deep sleep, REM cycle, or when you are were tossing and turning.
I never take mine off but to shower and recharge it, which only takes an hour or so.
I honestly can't say enough good things about it. The price is better now that there's a next generation. Just be sure to get the warranty, and you should be fine.
